We believe that men who are disciples of Jesus are brothers. Westside Men works to build Godly friendships that will enable men to grow as leaders in their home, church, business, community, recreation and wherever else God takes them. To that end, we have multiple things going on throughout the year. Each designed to meet men where they are at and help them on their journey of becoming more like Jesus.
Step 1 - Men’s Breakfast
About four times a year we will host a Men’s Breakfast at Westside. We eat food, hear a brief teaching, chat over some questions that have been asked, but mainly just give guys a chance to get to know other men!
Step 2 - Day Events
Throughout the year we have smaller groups of guys getting together for the day to go do stuff together! Whether it be an afternoon at Top Golf, surfing lessons, going on a hike, shooting clay pigeons, or anything, we want to give guys a chance to go do something together and to get connected.
Step 3 - 90 Day Challenge
This is a challenge designed to instill habits of Scripture reading, prayer, and other spiritual disciplines. Guys are put into teams of 4 or 5 other men and are given a daily scripture reading plan, a podcast to listen to, and a challenge to accomplish that week. Then the guys get together and chat about it!
Step 4 - Retreats
We have two or three Men’s Retreats every year. Some of them are led by Westside and some of them are led organically by men who attend Westside.
Step 5 - Men’s Mission Trip
This year we have a group of Men headed to India. This is a big ask, a big challenge, and it’s going to be difficult! However, going on a trip like this is something that you can’t even explain. God does so much in our own lives as we obey Him and go out into the world!
Westside wants to help men break the addictive cycle of sexual sin. Private groups of men gather weekly to honestly discuss sexuality and pray for purity. Contact us to be placed in a group.
Q&A with Brandin Cooks
We had the privilege of having Brandin Cooks (a wide receiver in the NFL) come to a recent Men’s Breakfast and share his testimony with us and talk about what it looks like to be a follower of Jesus in the NFL. Click the link to watch the video.
